Putting on Welcome Yule is a community effort. It's a year long effort for some. Many of the families involved come back from year to year.
We welcome participation from enthusiastic newcomers. Occasionally, the chorus threatens to become too large or out of balance and when that happens, we need to limit certain sections in the chorus. We like this to be a family event, so the kids chorus is comprised of interested children of the adult participants.
There is a fairly hefty time commitment involved. We have Sunday afternoon practices from early October through our performances in mid-December. The kids practice during part of the adult rehearsals and we can make arrangements to help with child care. During the last week we rehearse all day Sunday, Wednesday evening, dress rehearsal on Thursday, and evening performances Friday and Saturday, followed by the Sunday matinee and set strike and, of course, the cast party.
